Erin Brokovich Essay

Mother of three young children and twice-divorced. Erin Brockovich is an example of the compassioned American, who instead of pursuing self interest goals, realizes a struggle for the community of those ones in need. And finds how helping others, is in someway helping one-self.
With no money, no job, no career and three kids to feed, Erin Brockovich decided to fight for the rights of the underdog defied the odds. What's the difference between this story and the others? The difference is that Erin takes a personal interest in the life of the people of Hinkley, CA. She is part of them. She is not the regular American that just thinks for her personal benefits. I mean, of course that she wants to win money and be successful, but in her goal more people is involved.
She had two "bad habits- that instead of being an obstacle, were part of her success: her bad attitude, and her vestment. The fact that she is beautiful helped her too. She used her attributes, her strong character, her language, and her love for her children to fight against the system. She was not the one who was complaining all the time about her life. She was not the one who quit at the first mistake. She saw an injustice, and worked so hard for make a difference. The goal was huge but that didn't stop her, no even the fact of leaving her kids. .
I don't think that this story is an example of the American Dream. The difference between Ragged Dick and this is, at first, this story is real. Second, she didn't try to be someone else, she didn't buy new and fancy clothes, and even she could. She was the same person that she was since the beginning, but with more tenacity and passion growing day per day. She is able to prove herself and reinvented her life.
I would like to know if she stills being the same. If she still wants to make a difference and be part of the people. Maybe power, successful and money finally change in her, and now she is part of the people without roots.
