01333 and for the fourth simulation, the interarrival time was set at a lower 0.01. This time there was a noticeable effect on the factors of the load of a network. There was a lower utilisation by approximately 20%. The end-to-end delay had reduced vastly by the reduction of the inerarrival time, the number of collisions and the number of trasnmission attempts had also reduced. The results of the third and the fourth simulation have proved vital in this experiment, they have been able to show clearly that a reduction in the interarrival time has decreased the load on the network when the packet size is relatively low (625 bytes).
Knowledge attained from the first part of the experiment.
The overall first experiment has concluded that a small change in the interarrival time will make no effect on the load on the network (of 8 Nodes in this case) when the packet size is relatively large (1250 bytes). The interarrival time does make a noticeable change to the load of the network when the size of the file is relatively low (625 bytes). The lower the interarrival time, the lower the load on the network.
The following are graphs produced from the results collected from experiment 1.
Average number of collisions in the network.
End-eto-end delays compared to interarrival time.
The average number of transmission attempts.
Utilisation compared to the interarrival time in the network.
For the second part of the experiment, I will use a different number of Nodes rather than just the eight which were used for the first part of the experiment. I will use twelve Nodes and also 4 Nodes other than eight Nodes which I will use again for experimental purposes. I will experiment with changing frame sizes and interarrival times and analyse carefully the rresults obtained in order to denounce a pattern within the experiment results. When I have noticed a pettern in the results I will be able to make a statement of what the effects of an increasing or decreasing load makes on a network consisting of different number of Nodes.
