We next see Derek when he is older and they are raiding a shed with his mates. You then hear someone coming in and his mates run and Derek stands there. The man Confronts Derek and shines the light in his face. At this point he has another fit and the camera then focusing on his eyes again and the music are played. This makes us feel sorry for him again and that it isn't his fault. We then see him at a Kingswood approved school. They talk about him getting kicked out of a school. The dad is arguing with the man saying that they asked him to spell a word that he couldn't spell. This makes us feel sorry for him because it is a word that not many people could spell and they court asked a 10 year old to spell it with learning difficulties. This makes us on his side more because of the unjust he has. We then see him in room later on in life. He's not been out in a year and got no social skills because he doesn't meet anyone. Iris is having a conversation with him trying to push him to get out of the house for once. This makes us feel sorrier for him because we've seen him grow up throughout life and how he got the illness. We see how close Iris and Derek are with each other. We then saw him in the garden Shed while he is fixing a radio. We then have another close up on his face because he fixed the radio and it is an achievement for him. He starts dancing when the music comes on and the mood changes from him being focused to him being happy. The music is carried on into next scene when Derek and Iris are in Derek's room dancing and singing. Iris again encourages him to get out of the house and we see how close together they are. We see Derek leaving the house with Iris. This is where we first see Craig, a Dark figure in a light background which makes him stand out. The camera stops on him to make us realise he is a part in the film. We then see Derek going into the music shop and him being intimidated by a girl called Stella because he is shy.
