Three days to see

The doctor has just informed me that in three days I have been scheduled for an eye operation. This operation may result in blindness. The initial news is a total shock, but there is no time to waste. My first thought is to go to the library or bookstore to get some books and read up on my prognosis and determine what is in stored for me. Then I would make a list of things by priority I would like to accomplish before the operation. Natural beauty is one of the things we take for granted so easily. I would definitely like to watch the sunrise and the sunset for the next three days. I would also like to spend a day on the beach. The beach has always been a favorite place for me to visit. I love the sun, the sandy beach and the total relaxation from the daily hectic schedules.
Friends and family are an important factor in my life. I would like to spend some time with each of them. It may the last time I would get to see their faces so I want to have a final image of them in my head. Then, I would like to go with them to a theme park, possibly Disneyland. I would like to ride my favorite amusement rides. After I become blind, it would be more difficult for me to move around in a theme park. I would also like to play my favorite arcade games. I wouldn't have that opportunity afterwards.
These are some of the things that I would like to accomplish in three days before my operation. Life after the operation would be a big adjustment period. It will be so difficult and painful for people who use to see and then one day it's gone. I at least had the opportunity to see it for the last time and to keep it all in my memories. .
