Karl Marx was the greatest thinker and philosopher of his time. His views on life and the social structure of his time revolutionized the way in which people think. He created an opportunity for the lower class to rise above the aristocrats and to fail due to the creation of the middle class. Despite this failure, he was still a great political leader and set the basis of Communism in Russia. His life contributed to the way people think today, and because of him people are more open to suggestion and are quicker to create ideas on political issues.
Karl Heinrich Marx was born and raised in Trier, Germany, May 5th, 1818. His Parents were Hirschel and Henrietta Marx. Karl was second to the oldest of seven brothers and sisters. Other than his older sister, Sophie, Karl was neither close to his other brothers or sisters, nor to his mother. Karl found her simple-minded and incapable of grasping more than her daily domestic concerns. His attachment to Sophie did not last past his youth. He had a far better relationship with his father, who was very proud of him. Hirschel was aware of his son's brilliance and had visions Karl working beside him or perhaps even a judge. Karl came from a long line of Rabbis on both sides of the family. They were the best-known Jewish family in Trier. .
For centuries, the Jews of Germany suffered under a system of legalized oppression deprived of citizenship rights. They were forced to wear conspicuous yellow badges, casting them into the role of scapegoats. Because of this, Hirschel broke with family tradition and became one of the first Jewish lawyers. He also abandoned his Jewish faith and converted the whole family to Protestant, and changed his own name from Hirschel to Heinrich. .
Karl attended Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium, the local academic high school. He was a very bright boy, but didn't relate well to his peers, whose interests he considered trivial and unimportant.
