Even though there are a lot of reasons that many people want to be cloned, there are a lot of things they might not be thinking about. People need to think about the health risks involved in cloning, the emotional risks, and abusing the new technology. The world could get way over populated from this new technology. Cloning in many ways would affect the world and just give the world another problem to worry about. It's just not a very good idea over all.
The opposing side argues that we could really use cloning for health benefits. We could use them for their organs for people who need them. If something awful happened to a person, like they got really sick or had an incurable disease , they argue that they could just clone the body and make their body new again. The opposing side states that if someone wanted a twin or another one of themselves for any reason they would be able to just clone that person and there would be another. Cloning has been proven through animals, so we all know that it can be done but cloning human beings is taking it too far.
There are huge health risks involving cloning that need to be though of. There is an extremely high risk of abnormality to anything being cloned. So if we were to clone a human being there is a risk that it could be born abnormal and that is a mother's worst nightmare even in the world today. According to an article by Dr Patrick Dixon, "a cloned cow recently died several weeks after birth with a huge abnormality of blood cell production and dolly the sheep died prematurely of severe lung disease" (para 1). If there is such a great risk of abnormality then why even bother trying to clone a human being? Also according to Issues & Controversies, "since animal cloning has produced an extremely high rate of birth defects and early mortality, critics contend that the risk of subjecting humans to such fates is unacceptably high" (para 6).
