             In Lynn's Olson 1998 editor book, Lynn writes an article titled An Avenue to High Academic standards. The data collected on this topic, contained information about a sixteen year old high school student named Erika Pine. She was an average high school student enrolled in the general high school courses. She didn't focus on courses that would be helpful to her in choosing a career. Most high school students don't plan or pick courses that will help them later in their career. They wait until they are enrolled in college to start planning for their career. .
             Among the information that was collected, data stated that work from the text books get very boring to the students, and they loss interest very fast. The document introduces the work-to-school program. With this program, learning in school and the workplace is combined. Studies suggest that school-to-work could help students out in many ways. Most students agree that what they are being taught in school today really isn't the major thing that they will need to know to make it in the work place. For example, the average student would say that knowing that George Washington was a President isn't anything that they would need to know that will help them along their way in the work place. When students are doing interesting hands on work, it would .
             go a long ways with them in their career. The school-to-work program would provide different opportunities for everyone.
             Lynn shared great points about the work-to school program. The information was very accurate. It was information that the average reader could relate to or agree to a least most of it if not all. The topic was one that I have heard about a lot. The topic will give you something to think about and it won't bore the reader. It could be an issue that could make a difference in your life or children's lives. The author did a study on a current high school student, which made the article more interesting.
