Do we need to build a society based on hate and prejudice and needless recurring violence? We are a nation of significant people who have achieved success through talent and hard work. Most people think prejudice is based on the color of the persons skin but prejudice runs deeper then skin colors. Prejudice is found between gender, religion, cultural and geographical background and race. People have discriminated others since the beginning of time and still is a problem in today society. Much of our world's history is based upon this hatred against others. In the 1600s, white men used Africans as slaves and treated them as if they weren't human and Hitler and his men killed over five million people because they were Jewish or were not his definition of normal. Our society is based upon peoples" beliefs and origins and it seems millions are fighting each other for no significant reason. I do believe we are able to reduce the amount of prejudice but there is little hope it will completely vanish. However, society has come to except all races, religions and genders but there are still some individuals who discriminate even if the majority doesn't agree with them. Today, there are so many different people in the world that stereotypes are almost always incorrect and many people choose not to be followers but individuals. I believe people need to stop following the crowd and form their own opinions. Some people judge their physical appearance before putting the effort to get to know the person but there are also some who put in the effort to get to know person's personality and character that dwells on the inside. There are many people in history that changed the world for the good. There is Jackie Robinson who became one of the first of a different race to play in a white mans sport, Martin Luther King Jr. had gave one of the most strongest speeches about stopping racism and discrimination and Nelson Mandela who stood up for racial beliefs and because of that he had been placed in prison for many years.
