Sexual Assault

" (381). Society should let the population know about preventing the risk of sexual assault. .
There are many sayings about women are about provoking sexual assault. Here are just some examples; "Women say no when they mean yes", "all women like a man who is pushy and forceful", "the way women dress, they are just asking to be raped", "rapists are crazed by sexual desire", "deep down inside, women want to be forced to have sex". Some of theses might be partially true to some women. There is this woman who fantasizes about having a man force her to have sex almost like rape but she said that she would not like it if it was a stranger. She would prefer to have her boyfriend to do it to her but with her consent where it leaves her a little control in the situation. But if she agrees to it, it is not considered rape or sexual assault. Personally, I would not want to be forced to have sex because it is my body and I choose what or what not to do with it. My body belongs to no one else. I feel that to have sex your body and mind have to agree to it or else it just does not work.
During the residential school years (1889-1973), there were a lot of young Native American children that were being molested, beaten and sexually abused by the teachers all over Canada and the United States. Often the teachers were a Member of the clergy. If the child told someone about what happened to him, the child would get beaten because they would say that he was lying. To prevent from getting beaten, the child would stay silent, for the rest of his life. This caused a lot of drug and alcohol problems when these children went back home and it grew as they got older. Today, there are people that actually talk about these now, now that the residential schools do not exist anymore. There are plenty of victims of sexual abuse that come out and talk about what happened to them when they were smaller. This is still happening to this day that Priests molest young children in Churches.
