Due to these rules and obligations that are set by the religion, people all around the world from different religions have different characteristics and a way of life. In this essay I will concentrate on Islam and Christianity, their different aspects, characteristics, faith and the ways they shape their follower's personality I will also cover the differences and facts about their food, marriage, beliefs, women's place and how they are important to these religions.
Christianity has the highest number of members compared to any other religion, which is about thirty three percent of the world. Islam is the second highest populated religion with twenty percent of the world. These two religions are the most known and discussed religions. They both concentrate on belief of only one God and follow the rules of their holy book. In Islam this book is called Koran and in Christianity it is called the bible. Christians follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus was a Jewish itinerant preacher who was born in the year zero according to the Christian calendar, which is accepted by the western world. Most Christians regard him as the Son of God. They further believe that he is God, the second person in the Trinity. In Islam god is only one and there is only his prophets whom he sent to earth to spread the Islamic ideology and belief. "The messenger of Allah said: "Islam is to testify that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, to perform the prayers, to pay the zakat, to fast in Ramadhan, and to make the pilgrimage to the House if you are able to do so." He said: " You have spoken rightly", Jebreel (Gabriel) from Number 2 of "Al-Nawawi's Forty Hadiths." Both these religions have similarities as much as differences. The way these two religions operate shapes a person's identity and culture. The fundamentalism exists in the belief systems of these two religions however they differ in the way and which the conservative sides operate for both ideologies.
