Abortion

I came in contact with the term abortion when I was fifteen. I had a friend who found out she was pregnant at the early age of 16 and she was scared to death. She knew there were a few options she could choose from after informing her mother, but it was not easy. She could go through with the pregnancy of course and raise her child to the best of her ability with the help of her mother, she could have gave the child to someone else through the adoption process or she could choose to terminate with the consent of her mother. Given these three options there was one thing holding her back. She did not want the baby, but her mother would not give her consent to abort and she did not want any one else raising the child if she were to have it. So she ended up keeping the baby and regrets not going behind her mothers back and twisting the system. It is sad today to know that her live child could have been aborted, but that is after the fact. .
It is sad because the child is now living in poverty. Her mother to this day cannot afford to take care of her daughter. She never finished high school and her mother soon became sick and could not care for herself let alone her daughter and her grandchild. The whole idea and plan for keeping the baby was that my friend's mother would help her raise her child. Now because of an unfortunate mishap an innocent child is not receiving proper love and nourishment that she needs. She is constantly bounced around between family members, friends and even strangers so that her mother can go to work. I believe my friend should just have had the abortion. All of these problems would not exist if who would have. I am not insisting that abortion be played around with, but simply one should have the option of choosing that route in life.
There are so many circumstances where an abortion seems like the only way out. For instance, if a woman was raped and became pregnant afterwards from it, why would she want to bring a child of a rape victim into this world for anyone to raise? That child would be told the truth eventually and that may scar them for life.
