The Future of Chinese Cities

The most obviously good results are the rapid development of basic establishments, such as the installation of public service, the improvement of communication conditions and transportation. The increasing afforestation is another effect. .
However, at the moment, in order to maintain modernization, the cultural and historical establishments have been destroyed or transformed in many cities. They are sacrificed for urbanization. Therefore, how to deal with the cultural and establishments is becoming an arguable question in the future development of city. As I mentioned before, some people insist on imitation, following the trace of western countries. The consequence may be highly developed cities with advanced high technology but without history. A matter of course, people have different opinions for the future development of Chinese cities.
There is a point of view that our modern cities should have distinguishing features and competitive ability. To some extent, a city should have its characteristics as a person has his personality. And the characteristics are based on the history, culture and tradition. In their opinion, modernization is not apparent. Blindly imitating and pursuing the large scale and seeming appearance can hardly help. It doesn't become us. For example, Dalian is lack of water. Whereas, I it still develops large areas of lawn. It doesn't consider the situation of our country. Urbanization is not only the results of economic development but also the process of culture spreading and melting.
City is the center of politics, economy, science, technology, culture, education and etc. It is the place where people and all kinds of activities are concentrated. In our country, cities are the main bases for the construction of modernization. Therefore, the development of city takes an important part in the construction of modernization. It has the leading role in social and economic development.
