             Prejudice against special people and sexism are large themes in the book To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Prejudice against special people and sexism also applie in today's society. Prejudice against special people and sexism involves alot of people in maycomb.

             Atticus Finch is a lawyer, he is appointed by the court to defend Tom Robinson, a .
             black man accused of raping a white woman, Mayella Ewell. Even though Atticus .
             doesn't have to take this undesirable case, he does because it is the right thing to do. The .
             rest of the town of Maycomb prosecutes him for this decision, "Your father's no better .
             than the niggers and trash he works for." (Ms. Dubose to Jem and Scout Finch, p.102). .
             Not only do the people of Maycomb discriminate against him because of the case, but .
             also because he believes everyone should have equal rights.
             Bob Ewell is portrayed as a bad man, he beat Mayella and blamed Tom Robinson .
             for it. He runs from his responsibilities and spends all of his relief money on whiskey, .
             the rest of his family fends for themselves. People are prejudice against him purely for .
             those reasons, noone ever really got to know him or tried to turn his lifestyle around. .
             People are prejudice to Bob Ewell just because he has had no guidance in his life and his .
             family has a bad history, people should give him another chance.
             .
             This kind of prejudice is taken all the way to the schoolyard, where Scout Finch is .
             confronted with insults because of her dad . Just because she is his daughter, she is .
             discriminated against as demonstrated in this quote "Nigger lover"(Francis to Scout .
             P.84). In this quote, Francis is bullying scout as i said before, merely .
             because she is Atticus" daughter.
             Sexism also applies in the book To Kill A Mockingbird. .
             Prejudice against special people is a big theme as I have shown through three .
             points. They are, Atticus, Bob Ewell, and Scout have been discriminated against because .
             they are special people.
