Civilization developed from one main need, survival. I believe that if civilization had never came into existence, the world would not be what it is today. We would be living in a much more primitive world with far less technological advances then humankind is used to. In this essay, I will explain how civilization came about and how it brought us to where we are today.
Civilizations were formed due to common needs and relations. Whether people had the same religion, language, or race, groups were formed based on these similarities. In order to form civilizations, people needed an organized form of government to be in charge and a set of rules that everyone was to follow in order to keep peace throughout the community. One thing people agreed on were that a leader required certain traits in order to make him a strong ruler. Some of the qualities people admired were honesty, truth, loyalty, intelligence, and courage. All of these qualities made for a strong leader who would help keeps society organized and under control. .
Throughout the centuries, civilizations continued to grow and become more advanced. Some civilizations created huge communities, such as the Roman Empire, while others remained small. People within the civilizations also became smarter, beginning to turn the objects around them into useful tools necessary for survival. They still admired those who were hard workers, truthful, and intelligent. .
In today's world, people continue to still admire these same traits in others. Take a look at some of the role models we admire the most. Why do we look up to them? Because they have achieved that greatness that so few of us have ever reached. However, a few things have changed during the past few centuries. Two of the biggest were being equality between male and female and less discrimination between different races. Although our world still is not perfect, it has come a long way since years gone by and continues to change every day.
