I have always noticed how emphasis is placed on the importance of .
getting a college education and degree. Better jobs and pay are within reach for anyone who may possess a degree. So, I made the decision to return to school one morning in September 2003. I have been a bit dissatisfied with what I have done with my life so far and have become tired of working dead end jobs and living paycheck to paycheck. The goals I wish to attain at The University of Phoenix will help me with the interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and the communication skills I will need to compete effectively in my career and my personal life and the degree I will receive shall give me a boost in my financial situation.
First of all, I have never been known for my social skills. I am not what you would call an extroverted person. In social situations I have problems opening up to people and usually go unnoticed. I know to be effective in school and business I must be able to maintain interpersonal relationships with fellow students, employees, and employers. I believe to be a top performer in these areas I must master these social aspects. In my opinion some people look down on these skills but to me it is simply the way to get things done. Interpersonal skills are mandatory to develop the relationships needed to attain the resources I may need in the future. If I am not able to work with people on a one-on-one basis or I make them mad at me I will not receive the assets, funds, or support I need to become an effective businessman. Due to my being such an introvert, I have problems forming concrete relationships. This is a major problem I must overcome, and in my opinion consider this the most important. Through this course and my career as a student at The University of Phoenix I hope to learn how to grow in this social aspect.
The second goal I want to mention is the importance of organizational skills.
