Conditions such as super-recognition and face blindness illustrate how much we depend on our senses and our perceptual abilities to function normally. Our senses provide us with not only an awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the world's beauty, but alerting us to its dangers. Our senses enable us to feel the gentlest of breezes, see flickering lights miles away, and hear the soft murmuring of distant songbirds. Even thought I'm fairly good at recognizing peoples faces now, I feel like when I get older it will be more difficult, and especially when I'm in my ninety's or so it will be much harder to remember people. .
Gender and sexuality apply to and affects my life because I am a female. Compared to men, women develop much sooner. Some facts about women are, women start puberty two years sooner than men, they live five years longer, are about 5 inches shorter than men, express more emotion, are less prone to autism spectrum disorder, alcohol dependence, ADHD, antisocial personality, and suicide and are more vulnerable to anxiety, depression. For me, I did develop sooner than the boys my age and so did the girls my age. Also, girls my age are all pretty much shorter than the guys my age. I think it also very true that women express more emotion than men. I know I do. Men are more competitive when they play, and females tend to be more social. I find this very true, but some women can also be very competitive. .
Women and men use communication differently. Women tend to seek input and speak about people and their feelings, while men tend to speak what they think and state their opinions and solutions. Myself, being a female, I tend to seek input from others, and I don't always speak my mind in fear I would hurt someone's feelings. What gives us our sexuality? Boys have an X and a Y chromosome, while girls have two X chromosomes. For boys, the testes develop and at seven weeks they produce a flood of testosterone.
