The film is the story of two detectives, Mills (Brad Pitt) and Somerset (Freeman), who couldn't be more different - Somerset is a world-weary homicide detective who's brilliant at his job and finds himself seven days away from retirement while Mills is young and impulsive man who's jaded but still naive cop, he has been recently transferred to the police department, searching for a mysterious serial killer who plans his murders based on the Seven Deadly Sins (Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Sloth, Lust, Envy, and Pride). Pitt and Freeman arrive at the scene of these crimes to find dreadful murders that required elaborate and meticulous planning. The murders are committed to teaching the world and the victim the error of their ways.
