With the advancement in technology, the government has passed laws in order to regulate these prevailing issues. With this being said, I have decided to study the lack privacy due to the advancements in technology, and after extensive research I hope to gain a better sense of how this has affected people's lives, especially young adults, and in this essay I hope the reader will realize the dangers of what being too public with one's life can result in.
             Identity Theft and Fraud .
With online banking and apps becoming more frequently used, fraud has been an issue that has increased tremendously through the years. It is much easier to do bank transactions using their website or mobile App, by being able to instantly transfer or withdraw money from an account. In Fighting Mobile Fraud, it states that "iovation has witnessed a one-thousand percent increase in mobile transactions since the company started tracking mobile commerce in 2004. From January 2012 to June 2012, the company has tracked a 55 percent increase in mobile transactions" (pg. 9). With this becoming such an increasing problem, people are able to hack into an account much easier, by just knowing basic information, like someone's full name or even just an email address. There are apps created specifically to exchange money with people, no matter who it is. By linking your credit card to these apps, you are capable to transfer money into someone else's bank account and vice versa, which can allow whoever to gain access to important information that people assume is kept private. In an article on Fighting Mobile Fraud, Iovation states that "ninety percent of all fraud attempts reported from mobile devices have included credit card fraud and account takeover attempts," which helps to prove the fact that privacy is diminishing daily because of the growing use of technology. Now that every aspect of people's lives is published over the internet, all sense of privacy is gone and all of our once private information is out in the open for anyone to see.
