Coming Alive When You Die

I couldn't just force myself to feel sad with them, but I was respectful enough to listen to their memories and be understanding of why they felt so much pain.
One morning before the rosary my grandma wasn't feeling well. She had a really bad cough and said that it felt like someone was choking her. She was so tired and cold and was hungry but didn't want to eat. My sister, Melissa, gave her some cough medicine and told her to take a nap. When she woke up she needed to use the restroom but she couldn't find the way there and was really dizzy. When she did use the restroom her urine was bloody. Melissa insisted to take my grandma to the emergency room so her and my cousin, Amy, grabbed all of her stuff and headed over. When everyone was arriving at our house for the rosary, my cousin Mayleh and I told our aunt that we were going to clean up the garage for the reception. My aunt refused and demanded that we go to the hospital to be with our grandma. By the time we got there an hour had passed, and she hadn't been called in yet. Some time after the nurse called her back, they took her blood, did an EKG, and checked all her vitals. The nurse told us she needed to hook her up to an oxygen tank because her oxygen level was at 80%. .
After that, they put her into a room and the doctor came to see her. Besides the doctor, there were at least three nurses in the room as well as my sister and I; one was working on her chart, another was fixing her wires, and the third was assisting the doctor with an ultrasound. The doctor was asking a lot of questions, but it was hard for my grandma to reply because she had an oxygen mask forcing air into her lungs, and my sister had to answer for her. After all the questions, my sister asked the doctor if my grandma was going to have to stay the night, and he replied, "Absolutely! I could have told you that before I even came into the room to see her." My sister and I looked at each other worried.
