Environment Consevation Proposal

Examining the causes and impacts, are there solutions that could be proposed to elevate the situation.
             Research Question.
Is there a possibility to solve the rapidly increasing population and also the environmental problems that arise from it? This is because the problem justifies the need for intervention, whereas the causes offset the problems.
             Methodology.
The information from the study is mainly obtained from secondary sources that include; articles, books, and publications.
The Problems that Result from Increased Global Human Population.
             Urbanization.
People are continually moving from rural to urban areas, in that if these trends continue, by 2030 more than 60% of the world population will be living in the urban areas (Ginkel& United Nations University Conference 'On the Threshold of the New Millennium', 2001). An Increase in population in urban areas results in increased consumption of water, energy, food, land and domestic goods. To accommodate the increased consumption more resources are extracted, more industries are created, and agricultural production has to rise. Considering limited resources in the urban areas, there will be a need to expand the city, also known as urban sprawl. Urban sprawl involves alterations such as deforestation and land reclamation. Human activities such as urban sprawl demand natural resource to support them. .
             Fossil Fuel.
There is the increase in demand for diesel and petrol transportation. This has led to the need for huge quantities of fossil fuel. According to the British Petroleum, the current reserves in the world may not be enough to sustain the population over the next 40 years to come. Taking to account the non-renewability of fossil fuel, the surge in the population may cause depletion shortly (Orenstein, 2004).
             Pollution.
Pollution is another major impact of human activities on the environment. Over the years, burning fossil fuels has increased the IV carbon oxide in the atmosphere.
