Introduction.
• Open with Impact: If you look around I think you'll agree with me when I say that we are all very different from one another. Not only in appearance, but also in our mentality and our backgrounds. But there are also a few things that we have in common with each other. .
• Connect with Audience: We are all in a Public Speaking class, even though most of us would much rather not be (Sorry Professor). Another thing we all have in common is that if you look closely, you'll notice that we all have bodies. Clothes, tattoos, piercings etc. are some of the ways we have adorned our bodies to be different from one another. Henna tattoos are another way people have been adorning their bodies for centuries. .

A. Main Point 1: Henna is and has been applied for a variety of reasons. The origins aren't really known, but according to an article on HennaArtConnection, written by Michelle Moorhouse last viewed on the Oct 27th, 2015, henna has been practiced in places like North Africa, the Middle East, Southern Asia, and Europe and its history can be traced back at least 50,000 years and is rumored to have been around for at least 90,000 years. It is also rumored that Cleopatra used to use it to adorn her body, and mummies have been found with henna on their nails. .
B. According to Carine Fabius, the author of Mehndi: The Art of Body Painting published in 1998, originally it was used by people living in hotter climates for its cooling properties.
