Disadvantages proceeded by possible solutions and advices. Finally, the last section explains how international business professionals are a good fit in our world and significantly in Ecuador.
What motivate a student to follow a major in international business are the perks that come along with the career. There are several reasons why many students, including myself, feel motivated to choose international business. What encouraged Estefanía Gordon to study international business was her curiosity of understanding how a country works. According to her "a world without international business between countries is like just seeing what's in front of you, rather than seeing everything around you". Studying abroad can be a huge motivation for this career. Since one of the main requirements are "the ability to adapt in cross-cultural environments, fluency in two or more languages and knowledge of foreign cultures", what better way to do so than studying abroad (John Molson School of Business, 1). It will definitely challenge students to open new frontiers and meet new people with different cultures. According to James Whitman, "Florida International University has one of the best International Business program, as well as Bentley University and Loyola University" they offer great opportunities for people interested in a business degree. Students will be definitely encouraged to step outside of their comfort zone and push themselves further. Internships can help through the process as well. According to Jill Lacey "internships help students apply what they have learned in the classroom to the real world, boosting their qualifications and chances of landing a permanent position" (3). By studying international business you might have the opportunity to work abroad at some point. The ability of "improving foreign language skills, networking with local employers, and developing flexibility and intercultural understanding" are the benefits that working aboard can bring to your curriculum.
