Beats By Dre - Commercial Analysis

.
Once Neymar is done talking to his father, he is pictured without his headphones on, walking into the stadium with fans screaming and reporters yelling questions at him. Putting on his headphones, Jay-Z's, "Jungle," comes on as he walks past the crowds and into the locker room. Once, "Jungle," comes on, Beats by Dre begins to showcase its mass appeal as well as the large budget used for this commercial. "Jungle," which topped the Spotify charts during the month of June, was certainly one of the major hooks used by Beats by Dre to draw its audience in for the remainder of the commercial. By picking a song that most of Beats' target audience had heard, it was likely that just hearing the song would be enough to keep the audience's attention. Within the next two minutes, the video includes Bacary Sagna, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Blaise Matuidi, Cesc Fabregas, Daniel Sturridge, Luis Suarez, and Jozy Altidore. While only hardcore soccer fans will probably recognize every name on that list, most people will recognize at least one. The reason Dre included such high profile soccer players in the commercial is simple, exposure. They did this for the same reason that Nike pays their players to wear their shoes. Soccer players that idolize Cristiano Ronaldo are likely to wear the same cleats that he wears, which cost almost as much as a pair of the top-of-the-line Beats. If the high profile soccer players didn't garner all the attention Beats By Dre wanted, the star-studded second half of the commercial will do the job. .
Beats by Dre, knowing that some of its audience does follow soccer, introduces other athletes in the latter half of the commercial. Through LeBron James, Serena Williams, Stuart Scott, and Sydney Leroux, Beats by Dre is sure to cover all of its bases, ensuring that it's audience recognizes a least a few of the high profile faces, regardless of their interest in soccer and the World Cup.
