Moreover, Ms. Ortiz reveals that she has also been involved in providing part-time services to patients in walk-in clinics within the area especially during evening hours. The interview took place in Kissimmee, Florida. Before the interview was conducted, I contacted Ms. Ortiz prior to the process. What are some the main ethical values and practices do you hold as very vital to you profession? What is your experience with them?.
"As a registered nurse under the codes and ethics of nurses as outlined in ANA, every registered nurse is supposed to adhere to all the codes and ethics listed by the board. However, there are those ethics that one comes to find as obvious and mandatory during the time when one is working. For instance, it is the responsibility of any registered nurse to perform direct examination of the patient's health so as to establish what the problem is. During such an exercise, the patient may reveal a lot of (what may be called) private and confidential information to the nurse. This requires one to uphold integrity and confidentiality for all the information that he/she learns or acquires from the patient. Another vital ethic that calls for the nurse to be honor with sincerity is being faithful and truthful to the patient. Bleaching any of these ethics may lead dire consequences to the nurse that may also affect a whole hospital at large." .
