While on the other hand, although there is a lot of demand for plastic closures in Pakistan, the company is only making the closures right now for Nestle but will be looking forward to expand to other carbonated soft drink, juices and pharmaceutical companies. .
During a recent interview with the CEO of the Company, I asked him, " How far has Instaplast come since it's launch and what are the major setbacks that they are facing?" According to Mr. Mustafa Sattar, "The company has been an extreme success since it's launch and was recently awarded by the government of Pakistan for being one of the best companies of Pakistan for fiscal year of 2014. Instaplast is an Integrated Management System that fully complies with any international management system. The manufacturing site is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified by both local and international bodies. We have developed internal HACCP control system audited by major multinationals offering full compliance to food safety standards. The setbacks that we are facing right now are due to energy crisis in the country, we are not running to full capacity which leads to our orders not being given on time and our demand is already higher than we can take so this just makes it harder and creates more pressure for us. Further on, to counter these problems though we have bought a gas generator which is producing energy source for us but still it can not run 12 hours every day. We have to give it a break at some point." Next I wanted to interview my father the Chairman of Instaplast and majority shareholder, I asked him, " What were the plans for the future of the company and would he like to keep the company as a family business or would he rather take out an IPO on the business?" Mr. Shahid Sattar told me, " The company is heading towards becoming one of the biggest packaging company in Pakistan. Nestle France has just come and completed an overall test of the company itself and the machinery that is being used.
