Many hardworking legal immigrants have earned their place in the U.S; they have contributed to our country after waiting at consulates to obtain their Visas. However, a great portion of immigrants have accessed the country illegally, ignorant of the laws. Consequently, the promotion of the legalization of illegal immigrants has been brought to the public awareness. The following paper attempts to inform the reader about possible consequences of legalizing illegal immigrants; the political and economic system might be threatened. Disorder in congress between the federal and state government might be caused. The amount of money spent on federal programs for immigrants might increase and an unstable workforce might approach. Furthermore legalizing illegal immigrants is ultimately an unfair action. Such act rewards illegal immigrants and encourages similar illegal behavior in the long term. In addition, it is inequitable for those who played by the rules and it dishonors legal immigrants who came here the right way. America supports immigration, but with a 2,000-mile long border we also support our immigration laws. .
