Creationist and Evolutionist World Views

This viewpoint has a belief that humans were not formed in a single day. They were formed over millions of years of evolution. Each organism has an origin to a single starting organism. From this branches of the evolution tree were formed in all different directions. Families of different bacteria, viruses, animals, etc. were formed. The big consensus in looking at all the different animals of the earth our ancestor is easiest to trace back to the monkeys and the apes. The similarities with this particular group of animals are larger than any other in the evolutionary family tree. This is supported through bone structure and DNA evidences both species. The fact that now the scientific community can pick apart the genetic structure of cell and alter it suggests that all things are built upon a common set of building blocks. God is not center stage in the creation of life on this stage. .
The argument for the bible is typically found in biblical literalism. If it is written in the Bible it must be true. But what people fail to realize is that there are multiple authors and translations to the different bibles of the world today. Most of the translations have the same stories but with small differences and wording. Some of these differences can portray God as a different type of being. Reading one translation based through the Elohist source would show strong characteristics of a God that you should fear. This type of God is obsessed with showing his power off and ruling over mankind with strong hand. He rules more as a tyrant telling you what to do then as a caring God. Yahwist narrative on the contrast tends to show a God based from anthropomorphism. The meaning of this is a deity with more human characteristics. This God would be less feared and more of a protector of the people. He would offer promises as well as curses based on your faith. I don't believe with all the opportunity for mistranslation or interpretation that you can take anything literally from the bible.
