OverBaptist Denomination

In the book of Matthew Chapter 28 it talks about how Jesus came to them and said, "all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you, and surely I am with you always, to the very end of age." This particular verse is how we should be living out our lives. We as Christians and followers of God's Kingdom are expected to share His love, His amazing word and the good news to those who may not know. .
Looking deeper into the Baptists and my beliefs. I like what Baptist stands for and how they value their traditional values. In the book Noll defined Baptists as a, "distinctive, as the name implies was that individuals had to profess a Christian faith for themselves." Baptists believe that as sinners we need to find grace through Christ for us to be saved. Although we all sin and may fall short at times, but we are forgiven and shown grace through Christs love for us. I think it is important that as believers we need to understand that we sin, but we must repent and as God to show grace on us. We must pray to God to show us the right way and not be led in temptations. Something I have learned just from this class and talking with my pastor is that Baptist churches want to be separated from other denominations. I have seen this hands on with my church right now in trying to be different and have their own kind of style. Baptist traditions became one of the largest Protestant Christian denominations and were also a strong figure in the black community. Martin Luther King Jr. Is a fine example of baptist who strive to reach people and share his beliefs and what he stood for. .
From my own personal experience with my Baptist church in Aurora, Illinois has been very interesting and fascinating.
