The Pros and Cons of Foreign Talent

As such, the government has to take in more PRs into the country in order to bridge the gap between the birth rates and death rates. .
I agree with the article on certain points regarding this issue of bringing PRs into Singapore; what the article states is that government is doing a delicate job of balancing the welcome of foreigners while reassuring Singaporeans that they are still valued. Doing so is not an easy task. Singaporeans are breaking the bridge the government has tried to build in order for Singapore to succeed globally. Singaporeans have the biased conception that PRs are stealing away all their job opportunities which "rightfully" belong to them. In actual fact, the PRs are there to help Singapore. However, in the process of helping, the Singaporeans lose job opportunities to the PRs, thus creating unnecessary animosity among the two groups. .
             Government's solution to please Singaporeans.
The government tries to please the Singaporeans by allowing them more rights than the PRs have, but the Singaporeans are still unhappy with the government.
The government cannot please everybody. With the country's best interests in mind, they are "forced" to make decisions that will eventually make them unpopular among their own people and for the betterment of its nation. However the government's current situation in Singapore is where two forces are forcing the country into a corner: Firstly, when the PRs realize that Singaporeans have more privileges than they have, and sometimes have their own privileges taken away by the government, the PRs get antagonized. By solving this problem the government creates another problem where the citizens get perturbed as they think that the government is ignoring the citizens. As a result, while Singapore is trying hard to remain globally competitive, there is already an ongoing conflict inside Singapore itself, like soldiers fighting each other in their base camp without realizing that the real enemy is outside.
