             Shakespeare's world ,in this play, stretches from Alexandria to Rome, encompasses Messina, Athens, Actium4 and Syria. Roman civilization has long history and it was derivative of Greek culture. Greek culture was scientific and pragmatics and thus Romans had inherited these characteristics from Greeks. Rome is situated in the central Mediterranean sea . The villages adjacent to Tiber river became a powerful city, conquering the rest of Italy and the lands around the Mediterranean Sea. At the peak of its civilization, the Roman empire covered 30 modern states of the world and has over 50 million people living in it. Under Augustus Caesar the Roman Empire expanded as more overseas territories were added. .
             Civilization can be defined as "an advanced state of human society, in which a high level of culture , science, industry, and government has been reached". The word "civilization" comes from the Latin word for townsman or citizen. Civilization has a précised standard of measurement. Culture is pre-condition for civilization to develop. Roman culture has shown as highly developed where as Egyptian culture has depicted as wild which is passing through embryonic stage of development and there is great fluctuation in their moods. Shakespeare presents Rome and Egypt to the audience as complete opposites. He makes these differences obvious throughout as the location of the play switches quickly between the two worlds. Rome is presented as a serious, military culture grounded in reality. Egypt juxtaposes this behaviour as it is indulgent, extravagant and part of a dream world.Historians narrate that the pharaohs had immense power and wealth. There was no middle class and Egypt was sick and backwards.
