Gay marriage is the commit of a same sex couple to be together in matrimony. Gay couples adopting is the process/opportunity to have a child together. Gay marriage and gay couples adopting is a great idea. Not only can they provide but also help with the foster care crisis. They can provide the love, care and nurture as a heterosexual couple could. Gay marriage is just as fair as any other couples getting married. Everyone deserves to be with who they love. As said by George Clooney, "At some point in our lifetime, gay marriage won't be an issue, and everyone who stood against this civil right will look as outdated as George Wallace standing on the steps keeping James Hood from entering the University of Alabama because he was black." .
Marriage is a right of every American, it is a civil right. So why should the government or society control who you marry. Everyone wants to be happy with who they love. I know that some of the reason behind gay marriage not being in the constitution was political gain. George bush stated in the national post "to amend the U.S. Constitution to prevent inclusion of gay people in marriage was a clear effort to pander to the religious right's bigotry against gay people, simply for political gain." "I wish fair-minded people would recognize that including gays in marriage strengthens society." Even the president that most people don't like has recognized that people's happiness should not be based off of political gain and that it helps bring society together. The constitutions commitment is for liberty and equality for all people not just for some.
Society has problems against gay marriage because it is believed that in the bible marriage is supposed to be between man and women. "Marriages typically thrive when spouses specialize in gender typical ways and jobs", as said on familyresearchcouncil.org. But let's be realistic here marriage isn't about how the wife cooks the dinner and the man goes to work.
