the organization of knowledge can favor some groups over others and in turn work to preserve the social order. Here knowledge take a more complex role and attribute where it contributes to a certain goal for a certain group of people. knowledge is organized in a scene where it is arranged or classified. This organization is carefully thought out and made in order to facilitate knowledge as an instrument to serve a particular purpose. In the case of our educational systems, the purpose which is served is the maintaining of social structural order and favoring those who are in position of power. "social differentiation in education is a function of the organization of knowledge and the matter in which that organization is itself a reflection of the inequalities of the social order."(School and Education,p 224) Those who obtain the dominant form of knowledge would be on the top of the food chain and stay there as long as knowledge remains to be structured to serve that purpose. Knowledge in this case is observed to be a social construct where the dominant groups formulated a system of knowledge that will favor them in terms of maintaining the social order and staying in a position of privilege. .
This indicated that the knowledge perpetuating the dominant social structure must be formed by those of the dominant social groups. Indeed it is, which raises concern to the extent of truthfulness of the knowledge which we obtain in our systems of education. Also knowledge is not distributed equally in a scene where some schools systems get better knowledge than others. In turn the different school curriculums are being remodeled and shaped to hold the cultural profiles of different groups, yet again, favoring some more than others. This social structure has been prosperous for decades which means that the knowledge we obtain has been changed to favor the dominance of those in power and maintain them in the position of power.
