Throughout your years in high school you will make friends, lose friends and manage to find yourself along the way. Your middle school teachers more than likely scared the living daylights out of you by telling you how much harder high school will be. It's not harder academically but it is extremely different in the fact that you are tossed into a melting pot of different types of people. The four years you spend in high school will be the most rapidly changing years of your life; you find out who your true friends are and you gradually become the person you want to be for the rest of your life. Don't get me wrong, high school isn't always so serious. You will have so much fun making memories with the people you love.
The first thing you need to understand is that there are two different kinds of "food chains" in high school. Each year your status will change and chances are that you will probably hate the people at the top of the food chain and know it. Most importantly you need to learn when to speak up and when to keep your pie hole shut. Some teachers will be fabulous and some will not be so agreeable, but you need to learn to respect what they do and why. .
The friends you enter the high school with will probably not be the same friends you walk out the door with after graduation. Like I said, high school is where people find out who they really are. As you grow, you see the kind of people you want to surround yourself with- eliminating those who you don't think you need anymore. Savor every moment you have with the people that make you happy, you never know how much time you will have with them later on. .
When you are juniors and seniors it is extremely bittersweet; this is where the fun really begins to start. You have younger students begin to look up to you and you will finally be old enough to get your driver's license!! Junior year is definitely the most academically challenging year yet.
