How can you ask someone to fight for a country that view your family as criminals and they were treated like animals cage up behind a fence. Masumoto learns that with hard work comes dedication, after leaving the farm to attend Berkley University, he returns with a greater appreciation of the farm, he decides to turn the farm into an organic one, he knows this is not an easy task but he is a hard worker and with the help and approval of his father he knows they can do it they both posses the dedication needed to encounter a new challenges. Masumoto explains why he decides to take the chemicals out of his farm he say's "We want to bring life to fruition, to be part of the creation and preservation of good things. We want to take joy in our work, not kill ourselves with it"(5) I believe we are an industrialize civilization that completely have lost the test buds for good food. Society is no longer environmentally responsible by agreeing and accepting manufacture fruit and vegetables we are letting the industry know that we do not care for quality. Society have grown a costume to cheap goods, because is convenient, we disregard and pretend to not care where all this things are coming from, who is being exploited in the achievement of cheap goods we have settle with chemically enhance ones, and farmers hard work has been disregarded.
