Edward Hopper was a a well-known American realist painter and etcher. He was as well as popular for his oil paintings. Edward Hopper was a very talented person. He start showing off his painting skills when he was 5 years old kid. Edward Hopper was born on 22 July, 1882, in a upper Nyack, small town which is called Hudson River in north of New York City. His family was a middle class family, his father owns a dry goods store, and one in a while Hopper used to work in his father shop when he finds some spare time. When he was about seventeen, he decided to become a professional artist, but his parents didn't agree for his idea. They were against it. Their opinion was an artist's would not have a good and bright future. He gave up on his idea of what he wants to be and agreed with his parents and enrolled in New York School of Illustrating, but after two years he shifted to the New York School of Art.
In the New York School of Art he studied arts and gets to worked with Robert Henri who was a great painter and one of the fathers of the American Realism. Hopper always recalled good things about Henri. He considered that Henri was a professor with a generous heart and the most influential teachers for him. Hopper was a person who wants to learn more and more about all the new things. By that time France was the most modern country where he could learn modern life and modern art. He did his studies in Paris for a year. While he was in Paris he traveled to London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Spain and Austria. He had a very comprehensive viewpoint because he saw and well-read a lot of beautiful places around the world and he always used realistic style to express his paintings, which are give details correctly and accuracy situations of the life.
