Limitless is an American science-fiction-thriller directed by Neil Burger. The film was released on 8 March 2011 in New York, NY. The story is based on Alan Glynn's cult novel The Dark Fields, and the screenplay was created by Leslie Dixon as the script writer and producer. The film version is quite shrewd; it was widely discussed by both cinema goers and critics because it has an interesting plot, beautiful acting, and real life issues.
The film's plot is quite interesting and unusual. It catches the viewer's attention from its very first moments. For instance, in the starting scene it seems that the curtain of secret is lifted, and the audience is given a glimpse of the rest of the movie. But, it is just an illusion - this is not the end! In the film a New-York writer, Eddie Morra, has serious problems in his career and private life. On the street, he encounters into his ex-brother-in-law, Vernon, who gives Eddie some experimental brain drug called NZT to increase his creativity. Since Eddie believes he has nothing to lose now, he agrees to take the drug. The result is immediate: Eddie's perception, memory, and cognitive abilities have increased tremendously. Eddie visits Vernon again to get more pills, and discovers Vernon was murdered, and the apartment is destroyed. Eddie realizes that the murderer has been searching for the pills, and starts his own search and finally finds a hidden bag filled with drugs. After taking the drugs Eddie finishes writing the book that he has been working on for many months without any progress in just four days. Now, he feels like his abilities are limitless. He borrows cash from a Russian loanshark, Gennady, and increases the $100,000 to $2M in a week. The whole world seems to be beckoning him. Eddie draws the attention of business mogul Carl Van Loon, who wants him to work with his team. Soon, however, Eddie starts suffering disastrous side effects of the drug.
