" However, if we ask English teachers what intelligence is, their opinion will be different. This means that the word, "intelligence" doesn't have any specific definition related to it because of its ability to fit in a wide range of circumstances. Google defines intelligence as, "the ability to apply and acquire knowledge and skills" (Google search). If we ask some college graduates to define intelligence, they will most likely be unable to give us a better definition. Is Google intelligent? In the book, the Innovators, Walter Isaacson wrote, "Ask google a hard question like, "What is the depth of the red sea?" and it will instantly respond, "7,254 feet," something even your smartest friends don't know. Ask it an easy one like, "Can a crocodile play basketball?" and it will have no clue, even though a toddler could tell you, after a bit of giggling."(468) Google is intelligent if we look at the amazing features that it has such as answering almost any questions we ask. However, it is not intelligent if we test it using specific methods that were developed throughout history.
What is Artificial Intelligence?.
If we agree with the definition of intelligence provided by Google, Artificial Intelligence simply means the machines that have the ability to apply and acquire knowledge and skills. According to the Encyclopedia of Management, "Machines with the capacity to learn, store knowledge, utilize commonsense reasoning, apply analytical abilities, discern relationships between facts, communicate ideas and perceive the world around us are intelligent" (15). These are some of the qualities that humans have. This means that machines are intelligent only if they have the qualities that human beings have. The definition and requirements for a machine to be intelligent are biased because they are developed by human beings.
