However, the government must be aware of this never-ending war. Are they at fault or to blame? With all of todays high technology one would think this wouldn't be a big secret in the world we live in.              Human Trafficking.
Slavery takes on many shapes, ages, colors, and forms. Every country has outlawed this ugly elephant, but it won't go away! This ugly monster has made its way to our neighborhoods and is getting larger by the minute. Who would've thought human trafficking is alive and well in the 21st century. It sits beyond the edge of understanding and recognizing reality. Modern day slaves are often invisible unless you know what you're looking for. A typical person will say, I don't see any slaves when it's being done right under their noses. When in reality, human trafficking in the United States is a big problem. An approximate of 17,500 foreigners is trafficked each year in the United States alone; the number of citizens trafficked within the United States is even higher (Talati, 2010). Human trafficking is the fastest increasing criminal industry in today's world, coming in second after illegal drug-trade. This type of slavery has been traced back to the ancient civilization and has continued to grow.
