Gun Control and the Right to Bear Arms

 

            
             The second amendment and gun control have been a controversial issue, switching back and forth from guns are needed for protection and the only cause injury and lead to increased crime. The second amendment gives citizens of the United States of America a right to bear arms. And that right should not be infringed. Some people feel that the right needs to be amendment since it puts society at risk. In the research paper we will discuss; the history of the second amendment, why pro-gun supporters say it is an important right, and why anti-gun supporters think guns are just a risk to society. .
             Gun Control and the Right to Bear Arms.
             The fight against guns and whether or not normal citizens have the right to have them have been waging on for years. Guns are used for protection against disorder and chaos, when the unexpected occurs. We were given rights in this country. Rights that we cannot have taken away from us, the right to protect our freedom. Most importantly in this case, the second amendment protects the right of each individual to keep, and bear arms, to defend our property, and most importantly ourselves. However, guns haven't always been used to protect people. The fight started when criminals turned to guns to act out criminal activities. Anti-gun activists claim guns only lead to an increase in criminal activity. They also claim guns can cause serious bodily harm. In my opinion, it is our right to bear arms in order to protect ourselves from an oppressive adversary. .
             The United States Constitution states, U.S. Citizens have the right to bear arms. Even though this right was written with no restrictions, there are now laws that limit certain pieces of gun legislation. The reasons for these laws are caused by a concern for public safety. Although there are many safety reasons why the ownership of guns should be prohibited, these arguments are more important, not only by the need for protection, but because the restriction of ownership rights could become threatening to personal freedom and the U.
