We should never neglect the warnings that we receive. Correspondingly, we should never belittle what natural forces could do. Just like what happened to Japan, they did not expect the tsunami to reach 10 meters, hence, it claimed the lives of many and the walls that were built around the shore proved to be useless. Another, our government here in the Philippines should also try to invest in quake-proof buildings and structures to prevent destructions if ever we will also be shaken by a strong earthquake as that of what Japan has experienced. Also with regards to construction, we should invest in quality construction materials rather than using cheap substandard materials that may save us money but can be the cause of our deaths. Besides that, drills, trainings and seminars should be implemented to enlighten the people on what to do and to lessen the calamitous effects of these disasters. Additionally, we should take Japan as a model in circulating information and warnings. Within a few minutes, the people of Japan were already able to receive the warnings about the tsunami. We should also spread warnings faster to lessen further damages. Furthermore, Japan's early warning system saved the lives of many from the earthquake by stopping trains and factory assembly lines. We should also have fast warning systems here in our country to prevent deaths and further damages if ever we experience these things.
We watched a film on the Japan tsunami and I felt very much distressed. With the massively dreadful destructions that these natural events brought, who wouldn't be? If not for Japan's well-preparedness, many more lives would have been taken; consequently, the death toll would also increase. The tsunami did not only take lives; it also destroyed farmlands and also washed and swept away ships, boats, cars, homes and even buildings. After the tsunami, you would hardly recognize the place if it was really Japan.
