Everyone Needs Friends

Friends are one of the most crucial factors to living a happy life. Humans, by nature, are social animals and instinctively seek companionship. These are the people we open up too; they ones who we express our deepest fears too, who we tell about our dreams, our secrets, and our past too. These are the people we call friends. Friends, while quite pleasant, are sometimes hard to find. There are a lot of "fake friends" that are only there to use people, so knowing how to make friends is an essential part of life. Real friends are hard to come by but there are numerous steps to take in order to obtain them, some of which are as followed; (1) be a friend: if your acquaintance needs help or a shoulder to cry on, be there, (2) be trustworthy: don't betray confidential information. People seek those they can trust, and (3) listen and ask questions: let others know that you value what they have to say.
People, no matter how hard they try to hide it, are sensitive creatures that seek companionship when they are hurt or in pain. Friends are supposed to be there when you are hurting, they are there to help you both emotionally and physically. When you see that your friend is in need of help, do not shy away but assist them in any way you can. If they are emotionally unstable then be there to listen to what happened and give words of advice and encourage as you see fit. Avoid using negative statements, as these might make the situation worse, but instead stick to positive reinforcement as this will let the person know that you are genuinely there to help them. People are attracted to others that assist them in their moments of turmoil, so by following this step it might be easier to make and spot friends.
Talking is somewhat of an involuntary bodily function that cannot be suppress no matter how hard we try. With this being said, people will tend to reveal their secrets and dreams to you, and if they do then they consider you a friend; but whether real or fake depends on what you do with the information.
