Europe and the Industrial Revolution

 

            The Industrial Revolution was a period of social, economic, and technologic growth and expansion that originated in England in the late 1700s. Domestic production was spread widely and new methods of work to improve productivity were introduced to help the industry. Agriculture and industry productivity multiplied in a very short period of time allowing the production of cash crops and goods in a more effective and practical way with the new machinery. James Watt invented the steam engine, which helped in the manufacturing process. .
             The spread of the Industrial Revolution was fast and brought wealth to England and Europe with the "World Trade System" and later to the rest of the world. Significant increases of industrial products lead to a replacement of agricultural economy with a new industrial order multiplying the amount of goods and cash crops. Additionally, means of transportation started to become faster and more efficient allowing migration to increase and lead to a demographical rise in population globally with a non-stop population increase. The cities grew and had a lot of factories and industry; the railroad was the key to travel between the village and the city. Railroads and canals also were used for imports and exports of goods made Europe industrialize and urbanize. Industrialization brought the idea of Western capitalism, a new economic system that concentrates in profit, creating a wealthy economy worldwide. .
             International trade system based on England in the 1700s exporting arms, alcohol, iron tools, and colonial goods to Africa and Europe. Europe exporting wood, iron, materials for shipbuilding industry, and wheat back to England. Asia exporting silk, tea, cotton, species, and porcelain to England, and importing gold and ivory from Africa also importing opium from India. India exported cotton clothe to Africa and Africa exported slaves to America to produce sugar, tobacco, coffee, raw cotton, and wood to export it back to England.
