Reaction on Celia Veloso Bashing

After the reprieve given by the Indonesian government to Mary Jane Veloso's execution in Nusa Kambangan, Indonesia last April 29, 2015 due to the alleged illegal drug-trafficing, the Philippines rejoiced. Mary Jane's case headlined for weeks in the Philippine news and was the talk since the hold of the said execution. And the movie-ish setting of her struggle for survival backed up with the surprisingly huge support from the country amplified the hype for celebration. But the seemingly-perfect closure was put to test when Mary Jane's mother, Celia Veloso was bashed by social media reffering to her as an "ingrata" (ingrate in English) for the accusations she made against the Philippine government notably -President Benigno Aquino III last May 21, 2015. She made statements such as the president's lack of use for the 11th hour reprieve of her daughter's execution. She also stated that they will sue the government for the lack of assistance in the said case (CNN Philippines, 2015). .
I do not entirely favor the social media's reaction to Celia's statements about the government's actions in helping save the case. The "netizens" may have expressed themselves in the least-healthiest of ways-doing hashtags such as "ingrata" might have been a little crude to the senses. Why? Anyone who has an acquaintance who is sentenced to death moreover a family member although inappropriate, has the chances of professing something subjective. Just imagine yourself being one of Veloso's family members, the amount of stress that those people held making them helpless; possibly turning them dependent unto entities such as the country specifically the government. Also, Celia might have made a point in asserting that the president did not have the full account in saving her daughter's life in which according to CNN Philipines she said that the president held responsibility of (2015).
