It is very important for companies to have anti-fraud processes and programs in place. There are even laws in place that help stave off the opportunity of fraud, however, only the individual can control their integrity and ethics. In instances where fraud is prevalent in particular fields, companies and local/federal government should work together to employ sociologists and psychologists in-house to help gain a better understanding of behaviors of people within the company(s). One such way that sociologists could assist with a solution is by profiling. "Profiling is one approach to classifying offenders for the purpose of explaining their behavior and assisting in the investigation of crime" (Kapardis & Krambia-Kapardis, 2004. Pg 189-201).
According to Hayward, "It argues that the growing tendency among many young individuals to engage in certain forms of criminal decision-making 'strategies' may simply be the by-product of a series of subjectivities and emotions that reflect the material values and cultural logic associated with late modern consumerism" (Hayward, 2007. Pg 232-250). To help combat armed robbery crimes, the community leaders, along with local government agencies should partner together and provide more funding than what is already being provided. Look for more ways to invest in the community, create more jobs, provide a wider range of outreach programs to youth and invest in the infrastructure of individual communities. Many armed robberies happen in impoverished communities and "Stratification is sociology to many, and in criminology it comes as no surprise that deprivation theories privileging materialism and economic motives are perennially popular" (Sampson, 2000. Pg 711). All of these suggestions directly affect the causes that are listed in the chart for armed robbery. .
Cyber-crime is growing at an alarming rate, is, and has affected millions of people.
