            Almost everyone in the world knows at least one person who plays basketball. But do they ever think for a second what that person goes through? All athletes who love and have a passion for sports know the feeling of how sports affect their lives positively and negatively. Basketball is that sport for me, it is not just a game, it is more than that. Basketball is a life changing experience, once someone is in it, they cannot get out and failure is not an option. Basketball is not just about you, it is about your teammates, coaches, fans, supporters, parents and friends. Basketball can change someone life positively because of the fame and the freedom, it can also affect their life negatively because of their supporters and pressure. Basketball has impacted a lot of WNBA players' lives and made them a better person in the real world. Some people want it to happen, some wish it could happen, others make it happen. It is not hard to be successful, just dream or make a wish and do whatever it takes to make that dream or wish come true. I guarantee you everyone in this world wants to be successful in some way and with the god giving talent of sports (basketball), you can get there faster. You will have the opportunity to play and go to school at the same time on a free scholarship so all you will have to pay for is food and clothes because everything else is covered. Basketball has changed many lives, throughout this essay, you will begin to understand what the game of basketball is, how it is played, how basketball changed WNBA players' lives, the seven life lessons learned from basketball, and the history of basketball.
             Basketball can affect someone's life positively because of the fame and freedom. Fame is a big thing in basketball especially being that a huge amount of people watch television nowadays and if you are really good at basketball, people will remember and idolize you. That is how people get famous, players such Candace Parker, Lisa Leslie, Brittany Griner, Skylar Diggins, and Maya Moore.
