Combat Sport Athletes in Hong Kong

Hong Kong may seem like a commercial community where society is strongly academically orientated and taking athleticism as a profession to the minds of most people may sound like a fantasy, however above all the difficulties there is a way of to become a professional sports player of high success. As an athlete myself of semi-professional level, I am willing to share with us a slightly different point of view compared with the majority for sometimes experience could count to be rather realistic to refer upon in terms on whether or not it is possible to reach such a level of professionalism in Hong Kong and still be capable of survival. There is a possibility for such a dream to be achieved because there are less competition in the field of Combat Sports though it would not be an easy walk in the park. .
To begin with, we would look into the definition of a professional athlete. An fighter who represents his or her country to compete in games such as Asian Games or even the Olympics aren't professionals, if anything than amateurs they could at most respectively be classified as semi-professionals. This is because the meaning of professional levelled fighters are those who only fight in competitions for money and take all from what they get as a living. Whereas semi-professionals do receive money from their participation in competitions, however it would not be enough to support them for a living and they would need to find other part-time jobs to cover up their expense. In general, many people do not truly understand of a professional athletes, most see professional athletes in Hong Kong as sport players on a national level where they would represent their countries and compete internationally.
In fact, exercise is an essential for children in Hong Kong, because of the heavy expectations on academic achievements, most parents aren't interested in motivating their children for playing sports.
