Massive change in the attitudes of the public, politicians and business towards environment have been seen after Second World War. The public is now more aware of the matters linked to the environment and the activities linked to the environment as compared to the past. Primark has to comprehend the current scenario correctly and should understand that the public attention to the environmental activities have increased very drastically so any such activity of the company which is damaging for the environment will not be tolerated by the customers. Likewise, the politicians have also started to take the matters related to environment more seriously after the Second World War. Furthermore, the businesses which were earlier unresponsive to the environment also become careful of their duties towards the environment after the Second World War. There was a significant shift in the knowledge of the people about the environment after the Second World War due to which they become more responsible towards their environment (Smit & Pilifosova, 2003). It is thus advised to Primark that it must revisit all the policies concerning the environment. Primark will have to manage the waste in an effective way and it will have to stop all the activities which might cause pollution or create.
Initiatives by many countries involved establishing separate departments for the protection of the environment and some countries have been very robust in this approach. Moreover, many agreements and accords were also passed in the UN for the protection of the environment which include the Kyoto Protocol . More attention was paid to safeguard the ozone layer and in this regard different countries were asked to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide, CFCs and other gases which might affect the ozone layer.
