The Marijuana Misunderstanding

In a country "conceived in liberty," marijuana has continued to remain illegal in almost all states. Adolescent marijuana users are among the highest percentage when it comes to supporting marijuana as they believe smoking marijuana isn't morally wrong as it results in more positives than negatives. Many long term studies made on marijuana and cannabis (the chemical found inside marijuana), have demolished the argument that the drug is safe. Cannabis is highly addictive, causes both physical and mental health problems, and can also affect relationships and careers within your life. The common view that marijuana isn't a harmful drug, needs to be challenged more effectively. Don't smoke marijuana.
Addiction is commonly seen due to many drugs, but many people do not look at marijuana as being an addictive drug. One in six teenagers who regularly smoke marijuana become dependent on it and one in ten adults who regularly smoke marijuana become dependent on it. Due to it being impossible for a fatal overdose on marijuana to occur, marijuana is often perceived as less dangerous than heroin or cocaine. Over years of treatment programs helping with addiction, experts conclude that it is harder to get people who are dependent on cannabis through withdrawal than it is to get heroin users through withdrawal. There is also a higher number of youths in treatment for marijuana dependence than any other drug. Those who try to stop taking cannabis often suffer anxiety, insomnia, appetite disturbance, and depression. Dependent marijuana users begin to use marijuana as a way to get through their day as they know of no other way. The people who think they are just going to try marijuana a couple times can most certainly become the ones who become dependent on the drug. You will never become addicted to a drug that you never try.
Coming from a first person perspective, I am one to know how marijuana can affect relationships within one's life along with possible career opportunities.
