Striving to achieve ones goals is not as easy as it may sound. The smart goal I chose was to learn the craft of bringing out the full flavor various alcoholic beverages. The goal I have in mind is, by the end of the semester, to be able to efficiently and tastefully mix beverages in order to satisfy my customer's taste buds. The reasons for me choosing to learn how to bartend efficiently is to thrive in my current job as a bartender, increasing the possible profits that I can derive from bartending. Socially, I can provide satisfactory drinks for me and my friends at parties or social gatherings. .
The plan I have established to obtain my goal is to learn all the recipes from the restaurant, observe my fellow bartenders and acquire their skills and knowledge. I am already required to work, so I have no excuse not to learn the recipes that I am already demanded to know. I have to put effort on my behalf in order to learn the correct and most efficient manner, to prepare and serve, the variety of drinks available. I would not only learn how to make the drinks at my job, but also the exotic common drinks people consume. .
I will attempt to learn how to mix three drinks thoroughly each week. I will track my progress by making sample drinks for other bartenders to evaluate the flavor, the speed at which I make them, and the visual appearance. The flavor is important because it is the determining factor for people who buy mixed drinks. The speed is important because I need to deliver my product in a fast paced environment. Lastly the visual appearance is important because the eloquence of the decoration leaves a long lasting impression on the consumer of the beverage. In conclusion I will be mixing three different drinks a weekly in order to have them evaluated and work towards my goal. I will be doing this at work so time should not be a problematic factor. The exotic common drinks I will be researching on the weekends.
