I wanted to be in the group of climber and I wanted to see how it felt to be at the highest point of my home country and raise my country's flag as well as make my family proud of me. Perhaps my parents would never allow me. But I decided to purse my dream and show them that a girl can do anything if she wants, therefore climbing K2 was now my dream. I impatiently waited days for this expedition to start. Before leaving, we had an orientation and classes where we were all introduced to each other. We were thirty people in this expedition. The classes taught us about how to handle emergency situation, how we need to coordinate, all about the weather condition and how the change of attitude change would to affect our health. After the orientation, we officially started this daring expedition. The only thing in my mind at the time was how I would handle everything together. K2 was known for its harsh weather with heavy snow and very strong jet-stream wind. We started traveling from Islamabad to Askole which took almost four days. After that we started our trek to K2 bas camp which was almost 18,650ft/5650m. It took us almost two days.
Our journey took about 40 days to reach at the peak starting with base camp there were 4 more camps to stay as we started the journey we passes through were attractive nature, greeneries tall trees and rain forest. I the air there was so fresh that the smell of that air can never be forgotten the sound of the following water ant the melodies of bird made me feel that I was in heaven it took us two days to reach to the base camp the second day we started our walking all the greeneries were left behind and we were now reached to open area the wind pressure and weather made us trek really slow by the time we reached to the base camp we all were so exhausted that immediately after dinner we slept we stayed there for two days to rest well. After two nights of rest we stared climbing again the view there was getting breathtaking.
